CM Dr. Mohan Yadav launches Bhavantar Yojana to ensure fair prices for soybean farmers and promote agricultural welfare
Indian Masterminds Stories

In a significant step toward ensuring fair income for soybean farmers, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed district-level administrative officials to prioritize the effective and transparent implementation of the Bhavantar Yojana. Addressing a state-wide video conference from Samatva Bhawan, Dr. Yadav emphasized that the scheme should reach every eligible farmer and be widely publicized across all platforms.

The initiative, aimed at protecting farmers from market price fluctuations, will provide direct financial compensation for the difference between the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the market price for soybean.

Direct Benefit Transfer to Ensure Transparency and Fair Pricing

Dr. Yadav reiterated that the Bhavantar Yojana will function through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Registered farmers will receive compensation directly in their bank accounts. Registration for the scheme will begin on October 10 and continue till October 25, 2025, via the e-Uparjan portal. The compensation period under this scheme will run from November 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.

All price verifications and land record verifications will be handled by the Revenue Department. The state government is committed to ensuring that no eligible farmer is left out due to procedural delays or administrative errors.

Clear Messaging and Publicity: Key to Success

The Chief Minister urged all MPs, MLAs, and public representatives to actively use social media and public platforms to raise awareness about the scheme. “Farmers must be informed about the scheme’s benefits so that they can register in time,” said Dr. Yadav. He stressed that irregularities at any level would not be tolerated and called for strict monitoring through regular district-level reviews.

Senior MLA and State BJP President Mr. Hemant Khandelwal also joined the video conference and supported the CM’s vision, encouraging public representatives to ensure maximum outreach.

How Bhavantar Works: Profit Guaranteed in All Cases

The Bhavantar Yojana is a price-difference support scheme introduced under the Pradhan Mantri Attardata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA). If the market selling price of soybean is lower than the MSP of Rs. 5328 per quintal, the state will compensate the farmer for the difference. For example, if the average market price is Rs. 4600, the farmer will receive Rs. 728 per quintal as Bhavantar amount.

Whether the selling price is below or equal to the state’s average model price, farmers will still receive the difference up to the MSP, ensuring that every farmer receives at least the declared minimum support price.

Widespread Support from Public Representatives

Multiple public figures, including Agricultural Minister Mr. Edal Singh Kampana, Skill Development Minister Mr. Gautam Tetwal, MP Mr. Gyaneshwar Patil, and several MLAs, praised the initiative and thanked Dr. Yadav for standing with farmers. Mr. Rajendra Pandey, Mr. Ashish Sharma, Mr. Murali Bhanvra, and other MLAs acknowledged that this timely step would directly benefit soybean producers during this crucial harvesting season.

Seva Pakhwada and Antyodaya Utsav to Amplify Outreach

Dr. Yadav also encouraged representatives to integrate awareness efforts with ongoing social service initiatives like Seva Pakhwada, Swadeshi Jagran Week, and GST Utsav. These events, running from September 17 to October 2, offer an ideal platform to promote the Bhavantar Yojana among rural populations.

CM’s Directives for District Administration

  • Assign area-specific responsibilities to ensure thorough coverage
  • Prioritize awareness and registration of eligible farmers
  • Conduct regular district-level reviews
  • Prevent irregularities and ensure transparency in DBT
  • Use digital and traditional media to amplify the scheme’s message

With collective administrative efforts and political will, the Madhya Pradesh government aims to make the Bhavantar Yojana a model of agricultural welfare and income security.
