Barabanki: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a major development package for Barabanki, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of 82 development projects worth more than ₹542 crore during his visit to the district.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated and launched projects linked to the Dariyabad and Ramnagar Assembly constituencies. He also visited Shri Lodheshwar Mahadev Dham, performed prayers, and laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited Lodheshwar Mahadev Corridor.
Addressing a public gathering, CM Yogi highlighted the government’s focus on infrastructure development, cultural heritage preservation, religious tourism, and improved governance.
Lodheshwar Mahadev Corridor to Boost Religious Tourism in Barabanki
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Barabanki is a land of faith, sacrifice, and rich cultural heritage. He highlighted that the Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple has been a major centre of devotion for lakhs of devotees for years.
The Chief Minister said that the temple’s development had been neglected for a long time, but the current government has approved the construction of the Lodheshwar Mahadev Corridor on the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor.
The project is expected to:
- Improve facilities for devotees
- Strengthen religious tourism
- Enhance connectivity around the temple
- Provide better visitor amenities
The corridor development is aimed at giving a new identity to Barabanki as an important religious tourism destination.
Government Focuses on Heritage Conservation and Cultural Development
CM Yogi said that his government is continuously working to preserve Uttar Pradesh’s historical and cultural heritage.
During his address, he mentioned important symbols of Barabanki’s heritage, including:
- The ancient Parijat tree
- The legacy of legendary hockey player KD Singh Babu
He said that the government saved KD Singh Babu’s ancestral property from being sold and decided to develop it as a museum so that future generations can learn from his contribution.
CM Yogi Attacks Opposition Over Heritage Development
During the public meeting, the Chief Minister criticised previous governments, alleging that religious and cultural sites were not given adequate attention earlier.
He said that the current government is working with the vision of combining development with heritage conservation and is focusing on improving important religious and historical locations across Uttar Pradesh.
Focus on Law and Order Improvements in Uttar Pradesh
CM Yogi also highlighted improvements in the state’s law and order situation.
He said that earlier Uttar Pradesh was associated with issues such as riots, crime, and insecurity, while the state has now moved towards better governance and security.
The Chief Minister stated that strict action is being taken against criminals and that ensuring the safety of women, traders, and citizens remains a priority of the government.
Uttar Pradesh Emerging as Defence Manufacturing Hub
Highlighting the state’s progress in defence manufacturing, CM Yogi said Uttar Pradesh is rapidly developing as a major defence production centre.
He mentioned the production of BrahMos missiles in Lucknow and said the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor is strengthening the state’s role in India’s defence sector.
According to the Chief Minister, BrahMos represents the strength of a new India and reflects the state’s growing industrial capabilities.
Government Funds Being Used for Public Welfare: CM Yogi
CM Yogi said that government resources are now being utilised for development and welfare programmes.
He highlighted spending on:
- Housing schemes for the poor
- Scholarships
- Farmer support programmes
- Pension schemes
- Health insurance
- Infrastructure development
He said the government’s focus is on ensuring that public money benefits citizens through development-oriented projects.

During his speech, CM Yogi paid tribute to several personalities associated with Uttar Pradesh’s history and contribution to the nation.
He mentioned:
- Raja Balbhadra Singh
- Hockey legend KD Singh Babu
- Flight Lieutenant Shankar Dayal Bajpai
He also highlighted government initiatives such as:
- Maharaja Suheldev Memorial and Corridor in Bahraich
- Security force battalions named after Veerangana Uda Devi Pasi, Jhalkari Bai, and Avantibai Lodhi
The Chief Minister said these efforts aim to preserve the legacy of national heroes and inspire future generations.

The announcement of new development projects has generated enthusiasm among local residents.
People in Barabanki expressed hope that improvements in:
