Ayodhya: The holy city of Ayodhya, revered as the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, is set for accelerated development as the Uttar Pradesh government approves a special budget of ₹250 crore for the city’s overall growth. The budget will focus on religious, cultural, and tourism infrastructure, road widening, and enhanced facilities for pilgrims, positioning Ayodhya as both a major pilgrimage center and a global cultural hub.

₹150 Crore Allocated to Ayodhya Pilgrimage Development Council

Out of the total budget, ₹150 crore has been allocated to the Ayodhya Pilgrimage Development Council, chaired by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The funds will be utilized for:

  • Expansion of tourism facilities
  • Beautification of sacred sites
  • Development of basic infrastructure
  • Improved amenities for pilgrims

  • Modern traffic management systems
  • Addressing increasing numbers of pilgrims and tourists

These measures aim to improve connectivity and ensure a seamless experience for visitors.

Post-Ram Temple Development Momentum

Since the completion of the Grand Ram Temple, Ayodhya has witnessed a significant rise in the number of domestic and international pilgrims. The double-engine government in UP has accelerated city development to match this growing influx. Efforts include:

  • Enhancing world-class facilities for tourists and devotees
  • Expanding cultural, religious, and heritage projects

Additional Pilgrimage and Tourism Projects

According to Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Kumar, multiple large-scale projects are underway to establish Ayodhya as a religious, cultural, and tourism capital. Key initiatives include:

  • Construction of new tourist destinations
  • Development of river ghats
  • Expansion of green zones
  • Creation of modern amenities

The special ₹250 crore budget will complement these ongoing projects and support Ayodhya’s holistic development.

Boosting Global Recognition and Local Economy

Officials believe that the completion of these initiatives will not only enhance Ayodhya’s religious and cultural prominence but also strengthen the local economy by generating employment opportunities and boosting the tourism industry. The city is expected to emerge as a globally recognized cultural hub, reinforcing its position on the international map.
