The Uttar Pradesh government has granted voluntary retirement (VRS) to Ravindra Pal Singh (IAS: 2014:UP), with effect from Thursday.
Mr Singh, who is currently serving as the Special Secretary of the Language Department, had requested the voluntary retirement citing personal reasons. The state’s Appointment Department issued a formal notification approving his VRS after receiving clearance from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Singh had initially submitted his application for VRS in February 2023. His wife, Nidhi Srivastava (IAS: 2014:UP), currently holds the position of District Magistrate in Badaun.
The approval of his voluntary retirement marks the end of Singh’s service in the Uttar Pradesh government, after a relatively short tenure in the civil services.
