Lucknow: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government continued its transfer spree by posting seven IPS officers on Wednesday, following the transfer of 16 IAS officers on Tuesday.

These moves are part of the Yogi administration‘s efforts to strengthen law enforcement and administrative efficiency across key districts and commissionerates.

New Postings for IPS Officers

The seven IPS officers have been strategically assigned to bolster police administration in important regions such as Lucknow, Meerut, Rampur, Noida, and Ghaziabad.

Notable appointments include

Dev Ranjan Verma (2011 batch IPS) has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Training Directorate, Lucknow, moving from his previous post as DIG, Rules and Texts, Lucknow.

Dr. Satish Kumar (2013 batch IPS) will now serve as Superintendent of Police (SP), attached to the DGP Headquarters, UP, transitioning from Commander, SDRF, Lucknow.

Abhijeet Verma (2013 batch IPS) has been assigned as Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Meerut District, moving from Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Prayagraj.

A promotee IPS officer Atul Kumar Srivastava (SPS – 1999) takes charge as Superintendent of Police/Additional Superintendent of Police, Rampur, and will also hold the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Kanpur Commissionerate.

Mamta Rani Chaudhary, a promotee IPS officer and continues as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lucknow Police Commissionerate, with her role possibly upgraded.

A promotee IPS officer, Shailendra Kumar Singh has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate (Noida), replacing the SP/ASP, Amethi.

A promotee IPS officer Trigun Bisen will now serve as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ghaziabad, moving from SP/Additional SP, Firozabad.

IAS Officers Transferred; New Divisional Commissioners Appointed

Earlier on Tuesday, 16 IAS officers were transferred in the state. Key appointments include

  • Vijay Vishwas Pant has been transferred from Prayagraj to Lucknow as Divisional Commissioner.
  • Soumya Agarwal has been moved from Bareilly to Prayagraj as Divisional Commissioner.
  • Anamika Singh, Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly.

These reshuffles are expected to be followed by changes at the Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary levels soon.

The new appointment of Shailendra Kumar Singh as DCP in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) is seen as a strategic move to enhance security in this rapidly growing urban area. The reshuffle is expected to improve policing efficiency and public safety across the state’s major urban centers.
