In a significant reshuffle of the state’s police force, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 13 IPS officers, including officials at the ADG, IG, and DIG levels. The orders for the immediate reassignment of these officers were issued late on Sunday night, marking a major overhaul in the state’s police administration.
Among the key changes, 1996 batch IPS officer Dr. N. Ravindra, who was serving as the GSO of the Additional Director General of Police (ADG), has now been appointed to a new role in the Anti-Corruption Organization. This marks a significant shift in his responsibilities as he moves into a crucial position aimed at tackling corruption.
Key Appointments in the Reshuffle
1999 batch IPS officer Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, the Home Secretary ADG, has been given the additional charge of ADG Establishment. He will also serve as the GSO of the Director General of Police.
2003 batch IPS officer Nachiketa Jha, the IG of Meerut, has been transferred to Lucknow and appointed as the new Home Secretary.
2005 batch IPS officer RK Bhardwaj has been moved from the position of IG Basti to become the Inspector General of Police at Bhawan Kalyan, while 2006 batch IPS officer Akash Kulhari, the Joint Commissioner of Police for Crime, has been transferred to take up the role of IG Public Grievances.

- 2007 batch IPS officer Amit Pathak, IG Public Grievance, has been appointed as IG of the Devipatan Zone in Gonda.
- 2008 batch IPS officer Amarendra Prasad Singh has been moved from IG Devipatan to take on the role of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for Intelligence.
- 2009 batch IPS officer Dinesh Kumar P has been transferred from Ghaziabad to Basti as DIG.
- Bablu Kumar, also an IPS officer of 2009 batch and the Additional Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddha Nagar, has been made the Joint Police Commissioner for Crime and Headquarters.
- Keshav Kumar Chaudhary, also an IPS officer of 2009 batch, has been transferred to the role of DIG in Jhansi.
- 2010 batch IPS officer Sanjeev Tyagi, DIG Intelligence, has been appointed as the Additional Police Commissioner of Agra.
- Kalanidhi Naithani, also an IPS officer of 2010 batch and the DIG of Jhansi, will now take over as the DIG of Meerut Zone.
- 2011 batch IPS officer Ajay Kumar, the Commander of the 32nd Battalion of the PAC, has been given the responsibility of In-charge Additional Police Commissioner in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
All officers have been instructed to take immediate charge of their new assignments. This reshuffle is expected to bring new dynamics to the Uttar Pradesh Police, with a focus on strengthening key areas like intelligence, crime, and public grievances.
