Gonda, Uttar Pradesh: In a reshuffle aimed at strengthening the local law and order system, the Uttar Pradesh government has assigned 2023 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Abhishek Dawachya as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Gonda district, with an additional charge as Circle Officer (CO) of Karnailganj. Alongside, three other Circle Officers have been transferred within the district.
The new appointments were announced as part of an internal police reshuffle initiated by the Yogi Adityanath government.
Young IPS Brings Technical Expertise
IPS Dawachya, a 2023 batch officer, hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan. A graduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar, Dawachha is expected to bring a modern, technology-driven approach to policing in the Karnailganj Circle. His educational background and fresh entry into the field are being seen as assets in tackling emerging law enforcement challenges.
Other CO Transfers in Gonda
In addition to Dawachha’s posting, the following changes have been made:
- Vinay Kumar Singh, who previously served as CO Karnailganj, has now been posted as CO Sadar.
- Rajesh Kumar Singh, who was CO Sadar, will now take over responsibilities related to the district’s traffic system.
The transfer orders were issued to enhance efficiency, mobility, and responsiveness of the police force in the district.
Administrative Confidence in New Setup
Officials in the police administration have expressed optimism that these changes, particularly the posting of a young IPS officer like Dawachha, will lead to more vibrant field-level policing and better public engagement.
The restructuring is aimed at making the law enforcement machinery more agile and people-centric, especially in view of increasing dependence on technology in modern-day policing.
