Through a notification, the Union Public Service Commission has announced the commencement of the registration process for the UPSC IFS Exam 2024 from February 14. The aspirants who wish to apply for the Indian Forest Service Examination can visit the commission’s official website at upsc.gov.in to register themselves. The registration portal shall remain open till March 5, after which the correction window shall be operational from March 6 to March 12. The date for the Indian Forest Service Mains Examination is May 26, 2024.

The fee for applying for the civil services preliminary exams is Rs. 100, which should either be paid by depositing the sum in any branch of the State Bank of India by cash or by availing of the net banking facility of SBI by Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit card/UPI Payment or by using Internet Banking from any bank. Only the candidates who are either female, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or are Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) shall get exempted from paying the application fee.

Any candidate between the ages of 21 and 32 years (as of August 1, 2024) who wishes to appear in this coveted examination must at least hold a Bachelor’s degree in at least one of these disciplines – Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and Zoology, or a Bachelor’s degree in either Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering. Such degree must be drawn from those Universities that are incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
