UPSC Toppers Must Terminate Contracts With Coaching Centres, CCPA Tells DoPT

A communication in this regard has been sent from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT)

All successful candidates, including toppers, of UPSC exams will now have to terminate their contracts, if any, with coaching centres immediately after signing their joining letter following the declaration of results, as per a a communication from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

This follows an enquiry by CCPA into the misleading advertisements and unfair trade practices of the coaching industry. The report submitted by CCPA stated that the coaching centres under the radar resorted to misleading and exaggerated claims to lure aspirants.
