Kalyan Mandapam Dedicated in Gorakhpur
As part of the Gorakhpur initiatives, the Kalyan Mandapam in Basharatpur, Rapti Nagar, has also been dedicated to public service.
CM Yogi said the government aims to expand development across sectors while ensuring welfare reaches people across the state.
Free Bus Travel for Women Aged 60+
The development announcements come days after the Chief Minister launched the ‘Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yatra’ scheme in Lucknow.
Under the scheme, women aged 60 years and above will receive free bus travel facilities in Uttar Pradesh. On Raksha Bandhan, mothers, sisters and daughters will also receive free bus travel along with one accompanying person.
Focus on Women’s Self-Reliance
CM Yogi said the scheme aims to make women’s journeys more convenient and dignified while supporting their self-reliance. He named the initiative after Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, whom he described as an example of good governance and women’s empowerment.
He also highlighted Ahilyabai Holkar’s role in restoring temples and preserving India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
Government Focus on Women’s Welfare
The Chief Minister said the state government has prepared a comprehensive action plan for women, covering key stages from a girl’s birth to education, employment and entrepreneurship.
He said women’s safety, dignity and self-reliance remain central to government schemes, decisions and budget priorities.
The latest infrastructure projects in Deoria and Gorakhpur, along with welfare measures such as free bus travel for elderly women, reflect the government’s broader focus on public infrastructure, social welfare and inclusive development across Uttar Pradesh.
