Indian Masterminds Stories

Lucknow: In a significant move to boost industrial development, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved a budget of ₹146 crore to establish industrial corridors along expressways in Amroha, Etawah, and Amethi. This initiative is part of the state’s broader strategy to create a robust industrial ecosystem across all expressway-linked regions.

Infrastructure Development at the Core

The approved funds will be utilized to develop essential infrastructure within these industrial corridors. The Department of Industrial Development has directed district officials to expedite construction while ensuring quality standards are strictly maintained. The goal is to make these corridors attractive to investors and facilitate smooth operations for industries of all sizes.

Strategic Importance of Selected Districts

Amroha, Etawah, and Amethi have been strategically chosen due to their geographical significance and proximity to major expressways. This connectivity will significantly reduce logistics costs for industries, making these corridors highly appealing for both large-scale enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Employment Generation and Economic Growth

A key objective behind these industrial corridors is local employment generation. By attracting significant investments and establishing new industrial units, the initiative aims to provide jobs to thousands of local youth, reducing the need for migration to metropolitan areas. This effort is expected to strengthen both rural and urban economies while improving the overall standard of living.

Vision for a Trillion-Dollar Economy

The Uttar Pradesh government envisions transforming the state into a trillion-dollar economy by leveraging expressway-linked industrial corridors. Officials emphasize the importance of timely execution to ensure these corridors evolve into major industrial hubs. If successful, the initiative could position Uttar Pradesh as one of India’s largest industrial centers, contributing significantly to national GDP growth.

A Platform for MSMEs and Big Industries

These corridors are designed not only for large industries but also to provide a ready platform for MSMEs. With modern infrastructure and streamlined logistics, smaller businesses will gain easier access to domestic and global markets, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation across the state.
