Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the Union Budget 2026-27, calling it a roadmap for inclusive national and state development. He highlighted that the budget expands opportunities for all sections of society, focusing on economic growth, employment, and infrastructure.

Budget Focus on Inclusive Growth and Empowerment

Speaking on the budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, CM Dhami said it emphasizes:

  • Accelerating economic growth and fulfilling public aspirations
  • Inclusive development in line with Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas
  • Special attention to farmers, women, youth, small entrepreneurs, underprivileged, and backward sections

He congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman for presenting a development-oriented and inclusive budget that addresses the needs of all communities.

Dhami highlighted several sectors where the budget will positively impact Uttarakhand:

  • Tourism and Infrastructure: Development of environmentally friendly mountain trails and tourism facilities
  • Agriculture and Animal Husbandry: Focus on high-value crops, MSMEs, and rural economy strengthening
  • Industry and Technology: Investment in digital technology, biopharma, energy security, and environmental sustainability

Boost to Tourism and Hill Economy

On his X account, CM Dhami noted that the budget proposes developing trekking trails in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. This initiative aims to:

  • Expand tourism activities in hilly regions
  • Create new employment opportunities for local youth
  • Boost the economic and social development of the state’s mountainous areas

Dhami emphasized that tourism and infrastructure development under the budget will give fresh momentum to Uttarakhand’s rural and hill economy.

Alignment with Central Government Initiatives

The Chief Minister stressed that the budget aligns with central priorities including Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He assured that the Uttarakhand government will work closely with the central government to implement the announced schemes effectively, ensuring long-term benefits for both the state and the nation.

Strengthening Uttarakhand’s Economic Foundation

Concluding his remarks, CM Dhami stated that the Union Budget 2026-27 will strengthen India’s economic foundation while ensuring equal development opportunities for hill states such as Uttarakhand, particularly in tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, and skill development.
