Dehradun: Women’s empowerment took centre stage at the Matri Shakti Samvad and Felicitation Ceremony held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan on Saturday, as women participants spontaneously performed songs highlighting various women-centric welfare and empowerment schemes of the Central and Uttarakhand governments.
Through their songs and interactions, the women expressed their views on government initiatives and spoke about the role of welfare schemes in supporting women’s financial independence and self-reliance.
Women Highlight Women-Centric Government Schemes
During the event, women spontaneously presented songs focusing on various initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment.
The schemes and initiatives highlighted by the participants included:
- Interest-free loans for women
- Lakhpati Didi scheme
- Formation and strengthening of women’s self-help groups
- Other women-centric welfare and empowerment initiatives of the Central and State Governments
The participants said such initiatives are helping women become more financially independent and self-reliant.

Woman Expresses Gratitude to PM Modi Through Song
An emotional moment came during the interaction when a woman expressed her desire to convey her thoughts to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and presented a song before Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Through the song “Humein Toh Modi Ne Bahut Kuch Diya Hai, Bahut Shukriya Hai”, she spoke about the benefits of various government initiatives, including interest-free loans, the Lakhpati Didi scheme and women’s self-help groups.
The song expressed her gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi and highlighted her perception of the impact of women-focused government initiatives.
Women Speak of Greater Financial Independence
The women participating in the Mahila Samvad said that women-centric policies and welfare programmes are contributing to greater opportunities for women.
According to the participants, such initiatives are helping women:
- Strengthen their financial independence
- Become more self-reliant
- Participate in self-help groups and community initiatives
- Explore opportunities for livelihoods and income generation
- Play a more active role in the development process

The event also highlighted a broader shift in the way women’s participation in development is being presented.
Through their songs and interactions, the women portrayed themselves not merely as beneficiaries of government schemes but as active participants in the journey towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat and a Viksit Bharat.
