Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government reviewed three projects under the State Property Department on Wednesday, focusing on construction quality, cost control, timely execution and the effective use of government assets.
The reviews were held under the directions of Secretary, Housing and State Property Department, Dr R. Rajesh Kumar, and covered projects in Dehradun, Navi Mumbai and Haldwani.
28 Multi-Storey Houses Planned at Tehri House
A Departmental Expenditure Finance Committee meeting reviewed the proposal to construct 28 Category-5 multi-storey residences at the Tehri House complex on Rajpur Road in Dehradun.

The recommended project cost has been set at ₹43.91 crore (₹4,391.14 lakh).
The Public Works Department (PWD), Dehradun, presented the proposed work plan during the meeting.
The Secretary directed officials to:
- Keep the construction cost per square metre at the lowest feasible level.
- Ensure that cost control does not compromise construction quality.
- Use only high-quality construction materials.
- Finalise material specifications before construction begins.
- Ensure compliance with prescribed quality standards after selection of the contractor.
- Incorporate necessary design changes into the project plan.
Among the proposed design changes, officials were asked to reduce the area allocated for the camp office and increase the area designated for the camp attendant.
A revised Detailed Project Report (DPR), incorporating the suggestions and modifications, has been sought for submission to the government.

Vashi State Guest House Project Reviewed
The department also reviewed the current status of the Uttarakhand State Guest House at Vashi in Navi Mumbai.
Officials discussed the present condition and arrangements at the guest house, along with the works requiring attention.
The meeting was attended by:

- Surendra Singh Rawat, Joint Secretary
- Neeraj Kumar Tripathi, Executive Engineer, PWD
The department has been reviewing state-owned properties located outside Uttarakhand as part of its assessment of their maintenance and utilisation.
Haldwani Circuit House to Get Additional Rooms
The proposed expansion of the Guest House and store at Haldwani Circuit House in Nainital district was also reviewed.
The plan includes construction of additional rooms on the first floor.
Following the presentation of the project plan, the Secretary directed the Additional Secretary and State Property Officer to conduct a joint inspection with the concerned facility manager.
Officials have been asked to assess the site conditions and proceed with further action based on the requirements identified during the inspection.
The department has also directed that further action on the project be taken within a defined timeline.
