Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday responded to cricketer Rishabh Pant’s request for assistance in purchasing land in the state, directing concerned officials to contact him and provide all possible assistance as per rules.
Pant had tagged Dhami in a post on X at around 12:46 AM on Saturday, saying he had been trying to purchase land in Uttarakhand for nearly three years to shift his base from Delhi and build his first home in his native state. Dhami responded within a few hours of Pant’s appeal.
Dhami Assures Assistance as per Rules
Responding to Pant, Dhami said the cricketer was an asset and pride of Uttarakhand and praised his contribution to bringing recognition to the state through his sporting achievements.

Dhami also acknowledged Pant’s desire to return to his native state and contribute to Uttarakhand.
On Pant’s request regarding land, the Chief Minister said concerned officials were being directed to contact him soon and ensure every possible assistance in accordance with the rules.
This means the Chief Minister’s response was focused on facilitating Pant’s request through the concerned authorities rather than announcing any direct allotment of land.
Pant Had Sought Help After Three-Year Search
Pant had approached Dhami in a late-night post on X, saying he wanted to purchase land in Uttarakhand and shift his base from Delhi.
He wrote:
“I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttrakhand and I couldn’t find anything facilitating and big to live here I love my Uttrakhand.”
Pant said he wanted to return to his native place, contribute to the state and build around Uttarakhand. He also said that his efforts to acquire land had continued for three years.
He ended his appeal by asking the Chief Minister to look into the matter, writing:
“please look into this matter it’s been 3 years didn’t get any land awaiting your answer @pushkardhami sir”
Pant Clarifies He Wants to Buy the Land
In a subsequent post, Pant clarified that he was not asking the government to gift him land.
He said he wanted to purchase the property from the government at applicable rates so that he could build his first home in his home state.
Pant wrote:
“A gift would be lovey for representation out states at the highest level internationally stages but if you allow me I wanna buy it from Government and on there rates at least I can have my first house built in my own state and our state please be helpful.”
Dhami’s Quick Response Draws Attention
The exchange has drawn attention because Dhami responded to Pant’s late-night appeal within hours and directed officials to take up the matter.
The Chief Minister’s response, however, does not state that land has been allotted to Pant. Instead, Dhami said officials would contact him and provide assistance according to the applicable rules.
