Hyderabad: Vector Technics, a subsidiary of Zen Technologies has become India’s largest fully integrated drone propulsion manufacturer after increasing its annual production capacity to 300,000 units. The Hyderabad-based company said it now designs, develops and manufactures the complete drone propulsion system in India, supporting the country’s growing focus on indigenous defence technology and self-reliance.
The announcement was made by Vector Technics, a subsidiary of Zen Technologies. The company said the expansion will strengthen India’s UAV ecosystem by reducing dependence on imported propulsion components and foreign firmware.
Vector Technics Manufacturing Capacity Reaches 300,000 Units
Vector Technics has expanded the manufacturing capacity of its Shamshabad facility to 300,000 propulsion units annually. According to the company, this makes it India’s largest fully integrated drone propulsion manufacturer. The facility supports end-to-end production of complete propulsion systems for drones.
Vector Technics has Complete Drone Propulsion Stack Built in India
The company said it designs and manufactures every major propulsion component in-house. Its product portfolio includes:
- BLDC electric motors
- Speed controllers (ESCs)
- Carbon-fibre propellers
- Power electronics
- IC engines
- Starter-generators
- Embedded firmware
Vector Technics stated that its systems are developed without Chinese components or imported firmware, helping improve supply chain security.
What is the Importance of Vector Technics Drone Propulsion System
The company said the expansion aligns with India’s IDDM (Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) initiative. By manufacturing critical drone propulsion systems within the country, Vector Technics aims to improve transparency, reliability and domestic intellectual property while reducing import dependence.
Quality and Testing Standards
Before delivery, every propulsion unit is tested against NABL-accredited validation benchmarks. The company said this ensures consistent performance and reliability for defence as well as commercial drone applications.
CEO Highlights Indigenous Development
Vector Technics Co-Founder and CEO Prudhvi Raj Pakalapati said the company spent several years building motors, controllers, firmware and engines in-house instead of relying on imported technologies. He added that the company wants to set a new benchmark for indigenous drone propulsion manufacturing in India.
