Jashpur/Raipur: Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for six major development projects worth ₹19.51 crore in Jashpur. The ceremony took place near the police line helipad, marking a significant push toward strengthening both urban and rural infrastructure in the region.
Focus on Urban Infrastructure Development
During the event, CM Sai emphasized improving civic amenities in urban areas. Two key projects were launched under the municipal limits:
- Construction of a Muktidham (cremation facility) in Ward No. 18 (Bhagalpur) at a cost of ₹35.46 lakh
- Development of a modern auditorium in Ward No. 16 costing ₹6.76 crore
These projects aim to enhance social, cultural, and public infrastructure, offering better facilities to residents of Jashpur.
Boost to Rural Connectivity with Four Major Roads
To improve transportation and connectivity in rural areas, the Chief Minister also initiated construction of four important roads:
- Chhatakpur–Rengarbahar Road – ₹2.89 crore
- Kunkuri–Aurijor–Matlutoil–Patel Para Road – ₹3.01 crore
- Ranibandh–Chidatangar–Uparkachar Road – ₹3.29 crore
- Dhuriamba–Katukosa Road – ₹3.18 crore
These road projects are expected to enhance connectivity, ease transportation, and accelerate economic activities in rural parts of the district.
Government’s Commitment to Balanced Development
Addressing the gathering, CM Sai reiterated the state government’s commitment to inclusive and balanced development. He highlighted that:
- Urban areas are being equipped with modern infrastructure
- Rural regions are being strengthened with better roads and connectivity
He expressed confidence that these initiatives will provide a new direction and momentum to socio-economic growth in the region.
Tribute to Social Worker Mahavir Prasad Jain
During his visit, CM Vishnu Deo Sai also paid tribute to late social worker and democracy activist Mahavir Prasad Jain. He visited the family residence, offered floral respects, and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
The Chief Minister praised Jain’s lifelong dedication to social service and democratic values, calling his contribution “inspirational and unforgettable.”
