In a recent development, Mr. Annappa E, a 2005-batch West Bengal cadre IPS officer, and Mr. Awadhesh Pathak, a 2009-batch West Bengal cadre IPS officer, have been appointed as Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. Both officers have been assigned to Delhi on central deputation for a period of five years against existing vacancies.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Annappa E was serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Civil Defence, West Bengal, while Mr. Awadhesh Pathak held the position of DIG, Armed Police, North Bengal, Siliguri. Their induction into CRPF is expected to strengthen the force’s operational leadership and contribute to national security efforts.
