The West Bengal government on Saturday transferred 13 IPS officers in what officials described as a routine administrative exercise. A similar round of transfers had been carried out on February 25.
Senior-Level Changes
ADG, CID Vishal Garg has been posted as ADG-IG, Western Zone. In a corresponding move, Ashok Kumar Prasad, who was serving as ADG, Western Zone, will now head the Cyber Cell as ADG.
IG, North Bengal Rajesh Kumar Yadav has been appointed IG, Bankura Range.
CID and Howrah Reassignments
Howrah Joint Commissioner Sarbari Rajkumar has been transferred as DIG, CID. She replaces Gaurav Lal, who will now take charge as the new Howrah Joint Commissioner. Lal was earlier serving as DIG, CID.
Praween Prakash has been moved from the Armed Forces 6th Battalion to the Barrackpore SSF Battalion.
Range-Level Transfers
Raiganj DIG Sudhir Kumar Neelakantam will assume charge as DIG, Murshidabad Range. Syed Waquar Raza has been posted to Jalpaiguri.
DIG, Jalpaiguri Santosh Nimbalkar will now serve as DIG, Raiganj.
Shishram Jhajharia has been appointed as the new IG, Traffic, while Sukesh Jain takes over as IG, North Bengal.
District and Commissionerate Postings
Parijat Biswas has assumed charge as SP, East Midnapore.
East Midnapore ASP Mithun De has been shifted to the GRP Kharagpur Division.
Dyutiman Bhattacharya has taken over as DCP (South), Barrackpore, and Papia Sultana has been appointed Deputy Assistant Commissioner-SP, Barrackpore.
The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency across key ranges and commissionerates in the state.
