Hyderabad/New Delhi: Defence public sector undertaking Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) has announced a change in its Board composition, appointing 2010 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Prakash Rajpurohit as Government Nominee Director with effect from June 5, 2026.
The appointment was made in accordance with an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Defence (Department of Defence Production), and was disclosed by the company to the stock exchanges under regulatory compliance norms.
Board-Level Appointment at MIDHANI
According to the company’s filing with the BSE and National Stock Exchange (Scrip Code: 541195, Trading Symbol: MIDHANI), Rajpurohit, who is currently serving as Joint Secretary (Defence Industrial Promotion) in the Department of Defence Production, has been nominated to the Board until further orders from the administrative ministry.
The appointment is part of a routine government-led board restructuring exercise in defence public sector undertakings.
Amit Satija’s Tenure Comes to an End
Following the new appointment, the tenure of Amit Satija as Government Nominee Director on the MIDHANI Board has ceased with effect from June 5, 2026.
The company confirmed that the change in directorship has been made in line with the Ministry of Defence directive, ensuring continuity in administrative oversight of the defence PSU.
About Prakash Rajpurohit (IAS)
Mr Rajpurohit is a 2010-batch IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre. He holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.

Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Mr Rajpurohit has extensive experience across governance, economic policy, and district administration.

Compliance with SEBI Regulations
MIDHANI stated that the disclosure has been made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company also confirmed adherence to updated SEBI circular guidelines, including SEBI/HO/CFD/POD2/CIR/P/0155 dated November 11, 2024.
It further clarified that the appointed director is not debarred from holding office under any SEBI order or any other regulatory authority and is not disqualified under Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013.

The induction of a senior IAS officer with experience in defence industrial promotion and economic affairs is expected to strengthen governance oversight at MIDHANI, a key defence PSU engaged in the production of special metals and alloys for strategic applications.
