Yogesh Bahadur Khurania took charge of Special Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Western Command, Chandigarh, from 4th of September, 2023. An Odisha cadre IPS officer of 1990 cadre, Mr. Khurania had been serving as the Special DG (Operations) at the Force Headquarters of the BSF in New Delhi.
He began his journey as a Superintendent of Police in districts like Rourkela, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, and held various significant positions in state & center. As Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General (IG), he served as the Range DIG/IG in Bhubaneswar Range, Southern Range Berhampur, and Northern Range Sambalpur. Mr. Khurania who also served as IG Operations, Police Commissioner in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, and Special Director of State Vigilance, has got various honours including the Governor’s Medal, Police Medal for Meritorious Service, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Ati Utkrisht Seva Medal, and Police Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak.
