We all know, or have seen, or heard of the chameleon which changes its colour to match its surroundings. Now, here is a bird which even surpasses the chameleon in the art of camouflage. The name of this unique bird is Potoo and it is found commonly in South America.
Not as famous as its reptile counterpart – the chameleon – the Potoo bird can camouflage itself so well that one would not even notice its existence, so seamlessly it blends into its surroundings.
Senior IFS officer Dr. PM Dhakate posted about this bird on X (formerly Twitter) along with a video that shows what this camouflage master is capable of – hoodwinking everyone by making itself ‘invisible’!
See it for yourself in the video posted by the officer. Many X users in India are now thanking him for bringing to light the existence of this wonder bird.
