2022 batch IAS officer Aashima Goyal of Uttarakhand cadre was recently seen on the popular TV show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by mega star Amitabh Bachchan. She appeared on the screen when a contestant on the show asked her number to be dialled in the option, “Video call a friend.”
When the contestant Abhinav Singh read the question aloud to her, she gave the reply even before he could read out the four options, prompting Mr. Bachchan to praise her for her confidence. Abhinav went with her reply as she indeed sounded very sure of the answer, and asked that particular option mentioned by the IAS officer to be locked. It turned out to be the correct answer!
Abhinav then told the visibly impressed Mr. Bachchan that the ‘friend’ is an IAS officer. On hearing this, Mr. Bachchan folded his hands and addressing her, said, “Namaskar karta hun aapko, deviji.”
The officer, too, reciprocated with folded hands and replied that it was actually her good luck that she could get to speak to him. Mr. Bachchan then remarked that being in Administrative Service, she is helping in running the country, and, if he faces any major problem in the future, he would surely approach her for help.
