A Match of Unity and Cooperation
The goodwill match, which is a first of its kind, was organized with the goal of promoting mutual harmony and team spirit. It also provided a platform for both the administration and media personnel to bond over friendly competition. The match was inaugurated by Ms. Tulika Prajapati, the Collector of Mohla, who expressed her best wishes to the players and conducted the ceremonial coin toss.
The district administration team won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Press XI team, despite their best efforts, could only manage a total of 37 runs before being bowled out. The district administration, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Mr. Yashpal Singh and SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) Mr. Hemendra Bhuarya, chased down the target with ease, thanks to a brilliant opening partnership of 38 runs between the two leaders. Their spirited performance saw the administration team win the match.
The lively commentary and enthusiastic support from the crowd added to the excitement of the match, making it a memorable occasion for all those involved.
Second Match: District Administration vs Police
Following the success of the first match, a second match was organized between the district administration team and the police administration. This time, the district administration opted to bat first, setting a target of 76 runs. Collector Tulika Prajapati, who took the lead in the opening innings, gave her team a solid start. However, the police administration team responded with remarkable efficiency, chasing down the target with ease and winning the match by scoring 76 runs.
A Celebratory Conclusion
The event concluded with an awards ceremony, where Collector Tulika Prajapati and SP Yashpal Singh presented both teams with certificates and trophies in recognition of their sportsmanship and participation. Prashant Sharma was named the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Ms. Prajapati spoke to the attendees, emphasizing that the State Festival was not just a celebration of Chhattisgarh’s rich history, but also a symbol of unity, cooperation, and mutual respect. “Goodwill matches like these not only foster positive competition but also teach us valuable lessons in teamwork and discipline,” she said.
