Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening public convenience, welfare initiatives, and ease of doing business through transformative administrative reforms. Speaking at the inauguration of a one-day workshop for 24 CM Fellows, Mr. Patel highlighted the importance of combining the innovative skills of youth with the experience of senior secretaries to drive impactful governance.
CM Fellowship: A Visionary Platform for Youth in Administration
The CM Fellowship, launched in 2009 by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, continues to empower talented young minds to contribute to state administration. Mr. Patel lauded the Fellowship as a vehicle for making governance people-centric, technologically advanced, and aligned with public welfare objectives. He cited the Prime Minister’s words: “We work not just to run a government but to bring change in the nation,” emphasizing that Gujarat is following this vision to build a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
MoU Signed Between SPIIPA and IIM Indore to Boost Capacity-Building
During the workshop, an MoU was signed between the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIIPA) and IIM Indore, in the presence of Mr. Patel. The agreement, exchanged between SPIIPA Director General Mr. Hareet Shukla and IIM Indore Director Mr. Himanshu Rai, will facilitate joint capacity-building programs in public policy management covering 11 specialized subjects, enhancing the skills and practical knowledge of CM Fellows.
Senior Secretaries and Experts Guide Fellows in Governance Best Practices
Chief Secretary Mr. M.K. Das praised the research, case studies, and innovative initiatives contributed by the CM Fellows, describing them as vital for good governance. The workshop featured guidance from Principal Advisor to CM Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, senior secretaries, and other officials, while Fellows shared presentations and best practices from their departmental experiences.
Future Vision: Leveraging Technology and Youth for Efficient Governance
Mr. Patel reiterated that leveraging digital technology under the Digital India initiative and empowering young administrators is central to Gujarat’s vision for efficient and transparent governance. He expressed confidence that, with collective efforts, the CM Fellowship will continue to nurture solutions for a progressive, citizen-focused administration.
