High-Level Review Meeting Sets Quality Benchmarks

Chairing a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar, Mr. Patel reviewed road and civic infrastructure performance across all major cities and towns. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Harsh Sanghavi, Finance Minister Mr. Kanu Desai, and Chief Secretary Mr. M. K. Das.

Officials from across Gujarat joined the session through video conferencing, including mayors, municipal commissioners, regional commissioners, and standing committee chairpersons. They presented the status of ongoing works and the condition of roads in their respective regions.

Immediate Road Repairs Mandated Across the State

During the review, the Chief Minister issued clear directives for urgent and proactive interventions. He instructed officials to prioritise filling potholes and repairing damaged stretches without delay. The order reflects the state government’s focus on ensuring citizen safety, reducing accidents, and enhancing daily commute efficiency.

Mr. Patel emphasised that districts must deploy rapid-response teams to manage critical repairs and ensure uninterrupted movement on city and highway routes.

Field Inspections and Detailed Ground Reports by November 30

In a strong push for accountability, the Chief Minister ordered municipal commissioners and deputy commissioners to conduct regular on-ground inspections. He further mandated that each district must submit a comprehensive report on road quality, repair status, and pending works by November 30.

This administrative exercise aims to create a transparent, data-backed roadmap for improving Gujarat’s infrastructure ecosystem.

A Governance Model Focused on Quality and Transparency

Gujarat’s renewed drive underscores its commitment to maintaining high standards in public infrastructure. With strict monitoring, timely inspections, and improved coordination between civic bodies, the government aims to elevate road safety and strengthen urban development. The initiative is expected to boost citizen confidence and support the state’s broader vision of robust, modern, and future-ready infrastructure.
