Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh MSME Department has initiated the process to revive the closed Kailaras Sugar Mill in Morena district by inviting expressions of interest (EoI) for its lease.
According to the department, online proposals will be accepted until 5 pm on September 15, while the submitted proposals will be opened at 5 pm on September 16.
The move follows a decision taken at a state Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on August 19, 2025, under which the land of the Kailaras Sugar Mill was transferred to the MSME Department.
Site Visits and Meeting Scheduled
The mill will be offered on an “as is, where is” basis. Interested parties can inspect the site on August 31 and September 1 from 11 am.
A meeting concerning the proposed lease has also been scheduled for September 3 at 3 pm at the meeting hall on the fourth floor of Vindhyachal Bhawan.
Interested parties can submit written questions regarding the lease until 5 pm on September 7.

Mill Has 1,250 Tonne Daily Crushing Capacity
The Kailaras Sugar Mill is located on NH-552, less than 3 km from Kailaras railway station.
The mill has a sugarcane crushing capacity of 1,250 tonnes per day.
Its assets include:
- Factory building
- Plant and machinery
- Warehouses
- Workshop
- 12.86 hectares of land
The proposed lease period is 30 years, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance.
Eligible Companies Can Apply
Companies capable of manufacturing sugar and related by-products can submit their applications online through the Madhya Pradesh government’s tender portal.
