Bhopal: The IPS Service Meet 2026 was inaugurated on Friday by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium, Bhopal, marking a major moment of recognition for the Madhya Pradesh Police. The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the two-day meet by lighting the ceremonial lamp and taking the salute of the parade, symbolising the state’s respect and appreciation for police service.

Senior IPS officers from across the state participated in the meet, which focused on reviewing achievements, strengthening policing strategies, and reinforcing the role of the police in safeguarding democracy and internal security.

“Police Deserve Commendation for Their Dedication”: CM Mohan Yadav

Addressing the inaugural session, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav praised the energy, enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication of police personnel who continue to perform their duties despite long working hours, personal sacrifices, and constant pressure.

He said that the Madhya Pradesh Police has emerged as a national model of people-centric administration and security through its innovation, efficiency, and professional capability. According to the Chief Minister, the police force has not only maintained law and order but has also earned public trust through consistent performance.

Naxalism Completely Eliminated from Madhya Pradesh

Highlighting a major internal security achievement, Dr. Mohan Yadav declared that the Naxal movement has been completely eradicated from Madhya Pradesh due to the firm resolve and effective action of the state police.

Using a strong metaphor, the Chief Minister compared Naxalism to “snakes crawling under the bed”, stating that no one can sleep peacefully if such threats exist. He added that the Madhya Pradesh Police understood this danger and “crushed the fangs of the snake”, eliminating the threat at its roots.

He congratulated police officers for fulfilling the government’s resolve of a “Naxal-free Madhya Pradesh”, calling it a historic achievement.

Firm Action Against Anti-National Forces and Organized Crime

The Chief Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh Police has taken decisive action against anti-national and extremist organisations, citing strict measures against groups like HUT and PFI as evidence of the force’s vigilance and operational capability.

He reiterated that there is no place for organized crime in the state, and the police remain fully aligned with the government in strengthening democracy, maintaining law and order, and ensuring internal security.

Strong Crackdown on Drugs and Cyber Crime

Dr. Mohan Yadav lauded the police force for its commendable achievements in the anti-drug campaign, stating that strict and continuous action is being taken against drug trafficking networks.

He emphasised that the goal should be for the state police to reach criminals even before central agencies intervene, reflecting confidence in the force’s intelligence and operational strength.

The Chief Minister also noted that Madhya Pradesh Police is actively curbing cybercrime and organized gangs, adapting effectively to new challenges under changing laws.

Major Announcements: 7,500 New Recruitments and Promotions After 12 Years

One of the most significant highlights of the IPS Service Meet was the major announcements made for police personnel welfare and force strengthening.

The Chief Minister announced that:

  • 7,500 new police personnel will be recruited soon to strengthen manpower
  • A decision has been taken to clear pending promotions that have been stalled for the past 12 years

The promotion process will begin shortly, bringing long-awaited relief to police personnel

He assured that the state government is committed to providing the police force with modern technology, better infrastructure, adequate resources, and an improved work culture.

Madhya Pradesh Police an Ideal Model for the Country

Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh Police has become an ideal example for the entire country, especially in the implementation of new criminal laws and modern policing practices.

He stressed that the ultimate objective should be to further strengthen patriotism, public service, and professionalism, and to maintain Madhya Pradesh as a model state for internal security.

“Police Strengthen Democracy”: CM on Role of IAS and IPS

Drawing a broader comparison, the Chief Minister said that while India and Pakistan gained independence at the same time, Pakistan has witnessed repeated coups, whereas in India, IAS and IPS officers have strengthened the foundations of democracy.

He acknowledged that while all departments are important, the challenges faced by the police are unique, as they work relentlessly, often sacrificing family and personal life, to ensure public safety.

DGP Kailash Makwana Welcomes Chief Minister

Upon arrival at the venue, the Chief Minister was welcomed by Director General of Police Kailash Makwana and IPS Association President Chanchal Shekhar, who presented him with bouquets and a sapling.

DGP Kailash Makwana delivered the welcome address, highlighting the achievements of the state police and reaffirming the force’s commitment to internal security, public service, and professional excellence.

A Year of Achievements for Government and Police

Concluding his address, Dr. Mohan Yadav said that 2025 has been a year full of achievements for the Madhya Pradesh government and police. He added that both are moving forward with new experiences, renewed confidence, and stronger coordination, ensuring peace, development, and security across the state.
