The promotions were approved on Wednesday, marking a key administrative step to strengthen senior leadership across multiple central security organisations.

Strengthening Leadership in Central Armed Police Forces

The elevation of these officers to the ADG rank is expected to strengthen leadership and operational oversight within the CAPFs and central investigative agencies. Officers at the ADG level play a crucial role in strategic planning, inter-agency coordination, border management, internal security, counter-terrorism, and force modernization.

Senior-Level Administrative Move by MHA

Promotions at this level are typically made after careful assessment of service record, experience on central deputation, and operational exposure. The decision underscores the MHA’s focus on ensuring continuity and effectiveness in leadership across India’s internal security architecture.
