Raipur: The Union Budget 2026-27 has provided significant impetus to the growth and development of Chhattisgarh, with a range of schemes designed to deliver direct benefits in mining, health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare. The state is set to become a hub for mineral development, while initiatives in housing, women empowerment, tribal health, and transport aim to improve quality of life and economic opportunities for its citizens.

Mining and Industrial Development

One of the key highlights for Chhattisgarh in the budget is the development of mining corridors, along with reduced customs duty on rare minerals. These measures are expected to:

  • Strengthen mineral-based industries
  • Reduce production costs and attract investment
  • Create large-scale employment opportunities

These provisions are aimed at positioning Chhattisgarh as a major industrial and mineral hub, alongside Odisha and Kerala.

Biopharma Shakti: ₹10,000 crore over five years to produce affordable biologic and biosimilar medicines, improving treatment access for cancer and diabetes patients.

Housing and Infrastructure

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY): Central assistance increased for the construction of over 8 lakh rural houses, accelerating permanent housing for poor families.

Amrit Station Scheme: Redevelopment of 32 railway stations, including Raipur, Durg, and Bilaspur, to improve passenger facilities and connectivity.
