Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai Highlights Union Budget 2026-27 Gains for Agriculture, Health, Education, and Jobs

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the Union Budget 2026-27, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on Sunday. He stated that the budget will directly benefit states like Chhattisgarh and called it a historic document for India’s development and a prosperous future.

Budget Focuses on Economic Growth and Citizen Welfare

CM Sai highlighted that this year’s budget focuses on three key objectives:

  1. Accelerating economic growth and job creation
  2. Meeting citizens’ expectations
  3. Ensuring inclusive development under the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas

He emphasized that the budget is designed to strengthen the overall economy while promoting the welfare of all citizens.

Boost to Agriculture and Rural Economy

The Chief Minister noted that the budget includes multiple measures to increase farmer income and strengthen the rural economy:

  • Use of AI and modern technologies to boost agricultural productivity
  • Promotion of animal husbandry and dairy farming
  • Support for local industries and handicrafts under the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj initiative to create employment opportunities

Employment Opportunities for Youth

CM Sai said the budget places special emphasis on job creation for youth, with opportunities in:

  • Startups and MSMEs
  • Manufacturing and tourism sectors
  • Facilitating affordable international travel and overseas education

He added that tourism promotion will enhance local economic development and generate employment within the state.

Health, Women Empowerment, and Education

Key initiatives highlighted by CM Sai include:

  • ₹10,000 crore allocation for the biopharma sector, making medicines for cancer, diabetes, and other serious diseases more affordable
  • Upgradation of district hospitals and establishment of emergency & trauma centers in every district
  • Promotion of mental health, Ayurveda, and medical tourism with five regional hubs
  • Expansion of Lakhipati Didi scheme to support women in credit-linked self-employment and entrepreneurship
  • Construction of girls’ hostels in every district to support higher education

Infrastructure and Industrial Development

CM Sai mentioned major infrastructure initiatives announced in the budget:

  • 7 high-speed rail corridors and 20 new waterways
  • Development of large textile parks and mineral corridors in four states
  • ₹40,000 crore investment in the semiconductor mission to boost industrial growth and employment
  • Support for Khelo India Mission and education reforms to provide better opportunities for children and youth

Relief for Common Citizens

The Chief Minister said that the budget simplifies income tax processes and eases compliance for small taxpayers. Daily essentials such as medicines, clothing, footwear, mobile devices, EV batteries, solar equipment, and biogas-CNG will become more affordable, offering direct relief to the public.

CM Sai concluded that the Union Budget 2026-27 strengthens the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas”, ensuring inclusive development across Chhattisgarh and the entire country.
