14 Posts of IPS Increased in MP, Making it 319 Instead of 305

Out of total 319 posts of MP cadre, 222 posts are of direct recruitment, while 97 posts are to be filled by promotion.
The IPS cadre of Madhya Pradesh has increased by 5% from 305 to 319 posts. That is, there has been an increase of 14 posts. The cadre review of IPS officers has been approved by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions. The review has been delayed by two years.
Though the government wanted a 10% increase in posts, only 5% were approved. Out of these 14 posts, 5 will be filled by promotion of State Police Service officers, while 9 will be for direct recruitment. After the review, senior duty posts in MP will be 173, out of which four posts are of Director General of Police.
These four Director Generals are from HOPF, Home Guards, Police Housing Board and Jail. One post of Special Director General is for Police Training.
After cadre review, 16 posts of Additional Director General of Police (ADG) have been fixed in MP. Apart from this, posts of IG in Railways, Law and Security, SCRB, Narcotics, CID, Intelligence, Administration, CID, and Planning have been fixed in 11 zones including the rural zone of Bhopal-Indore. Along with IG of SAF in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Indore range, there will be posts of IG in Anti-Naxal Operations, Anti-Terrorist Cell, EOW, and State Industrial Security Force.
