New Delhi: The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has supported and inaugurated two new on-grid solar power projects in Goa under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The projects, with capacities of 80 kW at Agassaim and 90 kW at Bambolim, have been developed for the Drinking Water Department (DWD), Government of Goa. Together, the projects add 170 kW of solar power capacity to public infrastructure in the state.
IREDA Supports Solar Projects at Agassaim and Bambolim
The two solar projects are aimed at increasing the use of renewable energy in public facilities and supporting the adoption of cleaner power sources.
The project details are:
- Agassaim: 80 kW on-grid solar project
- Bambolim: 90 kW on-grid solar project
- Total capacity: 170 kW
- Beneficiary: Drinking Water Department, Government of Goa
- Initiative: IREDA Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The projects are expected to help public facilities reduce their dependence on conventional electricity and lower power-related expenses.

Solar Projects to Support Cleaner Public Infrastructure
The 170 kW combined solar capacity is part of efforts to promote renewable energy in government infrastructure.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several public representatives and senior officials, including:

- V. J. Bhende, Chief Engineer, Drinking Water Department
- Dr. Rajesh Patil, Medical Superintendent, GMC
The inauguration marked the commissioning of the two solar projects supported by IREDA under its CSR initiative.
