New Delhi: REC Limited, through its CSR arm REC Foundation, has taken a major step towards improving health and learning conditions in government schools by providing access to safe and clean drinking water for thousands of students.
Under its corporate social responsibility initiatives, REC Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with UPSIC Limited on July 16, 2026, to provide financial support for the procurement and installation of RO-based water purification systems in 20 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Government Schools across New Delhi.
The initiative aims to create healthier, safer, and more supportive learning environments for students by ensuring regular availability of potable drinking water.
Over 8,000 Students to Benefit from Safe Drinking Water Initiative
The project will directly benefit more than 8,000 students studying in the selected MCD government schools.
The installation of RO water purification systems will help provide:
- Safe and clean drinking water
- Improved hygiene standards
- Reduced risk of water-borne diseases
- Better health and overall well-being of students
Access to quality drinking water is an important factor in improving school attendance, concentration levels, and the overall educational experience of children.

REC Foundation Signs MoA with UPSIC for School Water Infrastructure
The MoA was signed in the presence of senior officials from REC Limited, REC Foundation, and UPSIC Limited.
Key officials present during the signing included:

- L. B. Nautiyal, Head of Department (CSR), REC Limited
- Sanjay Batra, Area Manager, UPSIC Limited, Ghaziabad
- Officials from UPSIC Limited and REC Foundation

RO Systems to Support Healthier Learning Environment
Through this initiative, REC Foundation will provide financial assistance for the purchase and installation of modern RO-based water purification systems.
The project is expected to play an important role in:
