With an aim to address the challenges faced by students preparing for competitive exams like JEE and NEET, Dr. Goswami has introduced the ‘Kamyab Kota’ initiative, which involves weekly dinners where he engages with students directly.

The 2015-batch officer spoke exclusively with Indian Masterminds and shared details about his project.

UNDERSTANDING CHALLENGES

In the wake of distressing incidents of student suicides, Dr. Goswami recognized the critical need for a proactive approach to support students during their crucial exam preparation phase.

“Through the initiative, we seek to provide a platform for students to voice their concerns and seek guidance, fostering an environment of support and encouragement,” shared the officer.

PERSONAL CONNECTION

Dr. Goswami’s personal journey resonates deeply with the students he seeks to assist. Having undergone coaching in Kota himself, he empathizes with the challenges students face.

During one such dinner at the Shiv Residency Girls Hostel, Dr. Goswami shared anecdotes from his own academic journey, emphasizing the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity.

ENCOURAGING RESILIENCE

One of the key messages imparted by Dr. Goswami is the need for students to remain adaptable and resilient. He advises students not to be disheartened by setbacks but to view them as opportunities for growth.

“I try and advocate for maintaining a broad perspective on career options and encourage these students to explore diverse pathways beyond traditional academic pursuits,” he shared with Indian Masterminds.

EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING

Recognizing the significance of balanced study habits and emotional well-being, Dr. Goswami offers practical advice to students. He advocates for breaking study sessions into manageable chunks and emphasizes the importance of peer support networks within hostel environments.

“Creating a supportive atmosphere amongst peers can alleviate feelings of homesickness and contribute positively to their academic success,” he said.

EMPOWERING STUDENTS

Through the ‘Kamyab Kota’ initiative, Dr. Ravindra Goswami exemplifies proactive leadership in addressing the multifaceted challenges confronting students. By fostering open dialogue and providing mentorship, he empowers students to navigate academic pressures with confidence and resilience.

His holistic approach underscores the importance of not only academic excellence but also emotional well-being in the pursuit of success.
