The Amazing Mishra Family is Back, This Time with an Indian Book Record!

Indian Masterminds Stories

The amazing ‘Mishra Family’ from Uttar Pradesh has added another feat to their strings of achievements. It may be mentioned that all four siblings of this family had cleared UPSC CSE and became civil servants. Their unique success story has now become part of the India Book of Records.

The siblings entered their names in the India Book of Records 2024 with the official record of ‘Maximum siblings qualified the civil services exam in consecutive years ‘.

The siblings’ record for qualifying the civil services exam

in consecutive years was set off  by Yogesh Mishra, who  qualified the exam in 2014 and was selected in I.A.S. rank list, and was later appointed as ‘Admin. Officer’ in the Ordnance Factory under Ministry of Defence. His other siblings followed him into civil service. Kshama Mishra is currently posted as Commandant, 3rd battalion, KSRP Karnataka, while, Madhvi Mishra is DC, Ramgarh, Jharkhand. The youngest, Lokesh Mishra, is DDC in Koderma, Jharkhand.

SHOULD HAVE DONE IT EARLIER

During a conversation with Indian Masterminds, Mr. Yogesh Mishra shared that his colleagues suggested him to apply for the record and all the siblings came on board. “When I told my brother about this, he was excited. He told me that we should have gone for this much earlier,” he said.

However, getting the name in the record list didn’t happen overnight. The Indian Book of Records checked all the facts. Not only did they make sure that all of them legitimately cleared the exam and are in service, but also inquired if they are real siblings or not. After Indian Book of Records, the inclusion process for Asia Book of Records and Guinness Book of Records is also underway. Mr. Yogesh Mishra said, “The management authority of Asia Book of Records has already started the verification process. Before the end of September, we might be in that list too.”

PREPARING FOR ANOTHER RECORD

He has also set out on a new endeavour. He is working towards mentoring the maximum number of UPSC CSE aspirants and getting them to clear the exam in one year. “Majorly the records are of two types. One that is done in the past and you claim to earn the title. Other one is futuristic, when you inform the authority that you’re trying for some record and they verify if you have achieved it or not,” he told Indian Masterminds.

The fact of the matter is, he not only helped his siblings to clear the exam but also have been mentoring many aspirants over the years to get into civil services. However, all those efforts were unorganized. Hence, to make the record, Mr. Yogesh Mishra has now joined Glory IAS and also started a YouTube channel through which he is mentoring number of aspirants.
