Major Rejig in Tamil Nadu, Several IPS Officers Transferred

Around 49 IPS officers have been transferred in Tamil Nadu, out of which five DIG rank officers have been promoted to IGP across the state.

In a major bureaucratic rejig, the Tamil Nadu government transferred several IPS officers out of which many deputy commissioner of police-level officers in Chennai have been transferred.

Inspector-general of police (IGP) Sumit Sharan has been posted as the IGP of railways, whereas, IGP NK Senthamarai Kannan has been transferred and posted as the commissioner of police of Tirunelveli.

IGP Najmal Hoda has been transferred and posted as the commissioner of police of Salem while IGP V Vanitha has been transferred and posted as the commissioner of police of Tirupur.

IGP Santhosh Kumar has been posted as the IGP of the north zone in the existing vacancy. IGP PC Thenmozhi has been appointed as the additional commissioner of police of the Chennai city police. IGP K Joshi Nirmal Kumar has been transferred and posted as the IGP of the CB-CID.

Among these officer, five have been promoted to the rank of IGP. DIG Amit Kumar Singh has been promoted as the IGP and he will continue in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on deputation.

DIG Ashwin M Kotnis has been promoted as IGP and will continue at the cabinet secretariat. DIG V Balakrishnan has been promoted and posted as the IGP of the central zone.

DIG Pradip Kumar has been promoted and posted as the additional commissioner of police of Chennai city traffic police in the existing vacancy.

DIG R Sudhakar has been promoted as IGP and posted as the IGP of the west zone.

DIG Rupesh Kumar Meena has been transferred and posted as the DIG of the CB-CID. DIG M Sathiya Priya has been transferred and posted as the DIG of Kancheepuram range.

DIG B Shamoondeshwari has been transferred and posted as the joint commissioner of police (JCoP) of the Chennai city headquarters.

Seven superintendents of police (SP) — A Saravanan, S Xavier Dhanraj, Pravesh Kumar, Anil Kumar Giri, S Prabhakaran, A Kayalvizhi, and R Chinnasamy – have been promoted as deputy inspector general (DIG) of police and posted in various positions.

Deputy inspector-general (DIG) of police S Rajendran has been transferred and posted as the East Chennai joint commissioner of police (JCoP). DIG KS Narenthiran Nayar has been posted as the JCoP, South Chennai and DIG R Lalitha Lakshmi has been appointed as the JCoP of city traffic north Chennai.

Superintendent of police (SP) Disha Mittal has been transferred and posted as the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Mylapore.

SP R Shiva Prasad has been posted as the DCP of Washermenpet. SP N Kumar has been posted as the DCP of Chennai city traffic south. SP E Sundaravathanam has been transferred and posted as the DCP of Madhavaram

SP S Deepa Ganiger has been appointed as the DCP of Anna Nagar. SP G Ramar has been posted as the DCP of the modern control room police in Chennai. SP Dr L Balaji Saravanan has been transferred and posted as the DCP of the Chennai city police headquarters. SP P Mahendran has been posted as the DCP of Chennai city administration.
Assistant superintendents of police (ASP) of Sriperumbudur sub-division R Karthikeyan has been promoted as the SP and posted as the DCP of Kilpauk and ASP A Pradeep of Cheranmahadevi sub-division has been promoted as SP and posted as the DCP of Chennai city traffic north.
