On the occasion of Republic Day 93 police personnel received the President’s Police Medal outstanding service in the police force. Officer from various states cadre has been selected for this honour. This year award was special as Satwant Atwal Trivedi has become the first woman IPS officer from Himachal Pradesh to receive the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service. Ms. Trivedi who is a 1996-batch officer, is currently posted as the additional director general of police (ADGP) in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Besides her Senior Odisha-cadre IPS officer, Dhirendra Sambhaji Kutey received the prestigious President’s Police Medal. Mr. Kutey, an Additional DGP ranked officer, is posted in Odisha Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) as Special Secretary. 1997-batch IPS officer, Prahallad Rout, a Constable posted in the Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack also received the PPM . IPS Officers of J&K-AGMUT cadre Danesh Rana , Vijay Kumar & Viplav Choudhary awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
ADG (Anti-Terrorist Squad) Naveen Arora was among five personnel from UP who received the President’s Medal for distinguished service. Apart from him DGP Raja Srivastava, ADG (technical services) Mohit Agarwal, head constable Vijay Kumar (Varanasi) and ADG N Ravinder.
DGP, Goa Mr. Jaspal Singh and SP Vishram Borkar has also been awarded for PPM for distinguished services. 20 Police officers from Karnataka and three from Tamil Nadu has also received the award this year.
