New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Amol Babulal Taori for the post of Director (Finance) at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a Maharatna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Power.
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 33/2026 held on April 23, 2026, following a competitive selection process.
Selection from a Strong Pool of Candidates
Amol Babulal Taori was selected from a pool of 12 senior candidates who were interviewed for the top finance position.
The candidates included executives from:
- Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL)
- Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India)
- Indian Oil Corporation Limited
- Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited
The selection reflects Taori’s strong financial expertise and leadership experience in the energy sector.

Currently, Taori serves as Executive Director (International Trade) at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, where he has been handling key financial and global trade operations.
His experience in finance, strategy, and international business played a crucial role in his selection.
Role and Responsibilities as Director (Finance)
As Director (Finance) at Power Grid, Taori will:
- Be a member of the Board of Directors
- Report directly to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD)
- Oversee finance and accounts functions
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with corporate and statutory financial norms
- Drive policy formulation and financial strategy implementation
The role is critical in managing the company’s large capital expenditure and ensuring financial stability.
PESB Recommendation and Next Step
The PESB is the central government’s apex body for selecting top executives in public sector enterprises. Its recommendation will now be sent to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval.
