The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the suspension of three senior IPS officers—Vishal Gunni, Kanthi Ratan Tata, and P. Sitaram Anjaneyulu—for another six months. The officers were initially suspended on September 15, 2024, over allegations of harassing Mumbai-based actor and model Kadambari Narendra Kumar Jethwani.

According to a Government Order (GO) issued by Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, the suspension of Vishal Gunni (2010 batch IPS officer) has been prolonged for another 180 days, until September 9, 2025, or until further directives are issued. Similar extensions have been ordered for Kanthi Ratan Tata and Sitaram Anjaneyulu.

The three officers—Sitaram Anjaneyulu (former Intelligence Chief, DG rank), Kanthi Ratan Tata (former Vijayawada Police Commissioner, IG rank), and Vishal Gunni (SP rank, formerly Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada)—were suspended last year following an inquiry that found them guilty of acting hastily and arresting Jethwani without a proper investigation.
