BEL Signs MoU with Distronix to Boost Indian Railways Modernisation with Advanced Technology Solutions

New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), India’s Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kolkata-based Distronix to explore collaboration opportunities aimed at advancing innovation and technology adoption in Indian Railways.

The partnership focuses on combining BEL’s expertise in defence electronics and advanced research with Distronix’s technological capabilities to support the ongoing digital transformation and modernization of India’s railway network.

Focus on Innovation and Advanced Railway Technologies

Under the MoU, BEL and Distronix will explore cooperation in several key technology domains to enhance efficiency, safety, and automation within Indian Railways.

The proposed areas of collaboration include:

  • Railway signalling systems
  • Advanced communication solutions
  • Passenger safety technologies
  • Surveillance and monitoring systems
  • Smart railway infrastructure
  • Digital and automation-based solutions

The initiative aims to integrate cutting-edge electronics and digital systems into railway operations to improve reliability and operational performance.
