New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) participated in the national seminar “Indian Military-Industrial Complex – SHAURYA 2026” held at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore). The seminar was organised by IIM Bangalore in association with the BMPDO-05 batch of Indian Armed Forces officers.
BEL Director (Marketing) Anoop Kumar Rai was an esteemed panellist at the seminar, where he participated in a discussion on the changing spectrum of battlefield electronics and communications, global technology trends, India’s defence requirements and the evolving supplier ecosystem.
Anoop Kumar Rai Highlights Changing Battlefield Technology
Rai participated in the panel discussion titled “The Changing Spectrum of Battlefield Electronics and Communications: Global Trends, India’s Needs and the Supplier Ecosystem.”
During the session, he highlighted the rapid transformation taking place in modern warfare and the growing importance of advanced technologies in strengthening defence capabilities.

- Autonomous systems

Rai highlighted BEL’s transformation from a traditional defence electronics manufacturer into a systems integrator and technology orchestrator.
The company is increasingly focusing on developing and integrating advanced technologies to address the evolving requirements of the Indian Armed Forces.
The approach places greater emphasis on:

- Strengthening battlefield communication capabilities

Rai also highlighted BEL’s collaboration with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), start-ups and academic institutions.
Such partnerships are important for expanding India’s defence technology ecosystem and encouraging innovation across the sector.
By working with a broader supplier and technology ecosystem, BEL is seeking to leverage specialised capabilities and emerging technologies for defence applications.
