Patna: The Bihar government has made APAAR ID mandatory for students of Classes 9 to 12 appearing in board examinations. Without the APAAR ID, students will not be allowed to complete their exam registration, officials confirmed.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has issued clear instructions to all District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure that APAAR IDs are created for all eligible students by June 30, 2026.

Deadline Set for APAAR ID Creation: June 30

According to an official directive from the BSEB Secretary, the deadline for generating APAAR IDs has been strictly fixed as June 30. Schools and education authorities have been instructed to complete the process within the timeline without exception.

The move is aimed at ensuring that no student is left out of the board examination registration process due to missing identification.

Mandatory Requirement for Board Exam Registration

As per the new rule, students of Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 must have an APAAR ID to fill out their board examination forms. Along with APAAR ID, the UDISE code of schools has also been made compulsory for registration.

Without these mandatory details, students will not be eligible to register for upcoming board examinations under the Bihar School Examination Board.

Government’s Nationwide APAAR ID Target

The directive also refers to instructions issued by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, which has set a target to generate APAAR IDs for all enrolled school students by June 30, 2026.

Following this, the State Project Director of the Education Department has reinforced the requirement for APAAR ID creation across Bihar schools.

Instructions Issued to District Education Officers

The BSEB Secretary has sent formal letters to all District Education Officers, directing them to ensure:

  • APAAR ID creation for all students of Classes 9–12
  • Completion of the process by the deadline
  • No student is left out of board exam registration
  • Strict compliance with registration norms

Officials have been asked to monitor progress closely and ensure timely implementation at the school level.

Previous Directives Reiterated

Authorities noted that similar instructions had already been issued earlier to all DEOs. However, the latest directive emphasizes strict compliance ahead of the board examination registration process.

With APAAR ID now mandatory for board exam registration in Bihar, schools and education officials are under pressure to complete the documentation process before the June 30 deadline. The initiative aims to streamline student records and ensure smooth participation in upcoming examinations.
