Bihar Unveils Ambitious Development Plan: Vikramshila University, Model Schools & Medical Colleges by 2030

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary unveiled a long-term development roadmap for the state during the Euphoria programme held at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna on Sunday. The announcement focused on major reforms in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and law and order.

The Chief Minister outlined several ambitious projects aimed at transforming Bihar into a developed state by 2030.

Vikramshila University Foundation Within One Year

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced that the foundation of Vikramshila University will be laid within one year. The initiative is part of the government’s vision to strengthen higher education and revive Bihar’s historic academic legacy.

Model Schools in All 534 Blocks of Bihar

A major education reform plan was announced under which model schools will be established in all 534 blocks of the state.

Key highlights include:

  • Upgradation of over 14,000 high schools
  • Establishment of model schools in every block
  • Focus on improving quality education infrastructure

The initiative aims to improve education standards at the grassroots level.

Medical Colleges in All 38 Districts by 2030

The government has set an ambitious healthcare target to ensure that every district in Bihar has a fully equipped medical college and hospital by 2030.

  • Medical colleges in all 38 districts
  • Strengthening healthcare accessibility
  • Expanding public health infrastructure across the state

The Chief Minister stated that these facilities will be developed before the next election cycle.

213 New Degree Colleges and Major Infrastructure Expansion

The Chief Minister also announced that work on 213 new degree colleges will begin this month.

Other major infrastructure plans include:

  • Construction of a 126 km Marine Drive-style corridor
  • Expansion of higher education infrastructure across Bihar

These initiatives aim to boost both education and urban development.

Focus on Law and Cultural Discipline

State Art and Culture Minister Dr. Pramod Chandra Banshi emphasized strict enforcement of cultural regulations. District officials and police superintendents have been directed to ensure that objectionable or inappropriate songs are strictly prohibited across the state.

Bihar’s Vision for 2030 Development

The Chief Minister highlighted that the government’s roadmap focuses on:

  • Strong governance and law and order
  • Education and skill development
  • Healthcare expansion
  • Large-scale infrastructure growth

He expressed confidence that these initiatives will accelerate Bihar’s development journey.

The announcements reflect Bihar’s strong push toward long-term structural reforms in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, aiming for inclusive development across all districts and blocks by 2030.
