Patna: The Bihar government has launched a new mobile application named “Eekh Mitra” to provide sugarcane farmers with easy access to cultivation-related information, modern farming techniques, and quick solutions to their agricultural problems.
Developed by the Sugarcane Industries Department Bihar, the app aims to strengthen sugarcane farming in the state by offering digital support and expert guidance directly to farmers through their mobile phones.
Farmers to Get Complete Sugarcane Farming Information Through Mobile App
With the launch of the Eekh Mitra app, farmers in Bihar can now access important information related to sugarcane cultivation from the comfort of their homes.
According to the department, farmers can download the app on their smartphones and use it to:
- Get scientific advice on sugarcane farming
- Learn modern cultivation techniques
- Access pest and disease management solutions
- Receive soil testing and nutrient recommendations
- Obtain information related to sugarcane production
- Resolve farming-related issues quickly
The initiative is expected to improve productivity and help farmers adopt advanced agricultural practices.

Bihar Government Focused on Expanding Sugar Industry
The launch of the app comes as part of the Bihar government’s broader efforts to strengthen the sugar industry and increase sugarcane cultivation across the state.
Under the Seven Resolves-3 (Saat Nischay-3) program, the state government has decided to revive closed sugar mills in Bihar while also planning the establishment of 25 new sugar mills.
The government believes that improving access to technology and information for farmers will play an important role in increasing sugarcane production and supporting the growth of the sugar sector.

The department added that digital platforms like Eekh Mitra will help modernize agriculture and make government services more accessible to rural communities.
