Patna: In a significant move to strengthen industrial development and attract investment, the Bihar Cabinet has approved four key proposals aimed at creating a more business-friendly environment across the state. The decisions are expected to foster industrial growth, generate employment opportunities, and support rural economic development.
Hajiipur to Become a Food Processing Hub
As part of the initiatives, the Cabinet has given in-principle approval to allocate 100 acres of land in Hajiipur, Vaishali district, to the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM). This land, situated within the developing industrial area, will be provided free of cost to the central government for the establishment of the institute.
The final decision regarding the land selection will be taken by the Director Board of the Infrastructure Development Authority, Bihar, Patna, ensuring proper planning and execution.

NIFTEM Establishment Welcomed by Local Leaders
The announcement has been warmly welcomed by Chirag Paswan, Member of Parliament from Hajiipur and Union Minister. Expressing his joy on social media, Paswan highlighted that the establishment of NIFTEM in his constituency is a matter of pride not just for Hajiipur but for the entire state of Bihar.
New Opportunities in Employment and Skill Development
Chirag Paswan emphasized that NIFTEM will create new opportunities in food processing, entrepreneurship, research, skill development, and employment. Local youth will have access to quality education and training, while farmers will benefit from better pricing for their products and modern technological support.
The institute is expected to act as a catalyst in transforming Bihar into a hub for food processing and agro-based industries.
A Strategic Step Towards National Development Goals
According to Paswan, NIFTEM’s establishment will help Bihar gain a strong foothold among India’s leading states in the food processing sector. He also noted that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India and Self-Reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat), marking a significant step towards achieving these national goals.
