Gujarat: NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced the commercial operation of the second part capacity of 6.3 MW at its Vanki Wind Energy Project in Nakhatrana, Kutch, Gujarat.

The newly commissioned capacity, owned and operated through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, became commercially operational from 00:00 hours on September 13, 2026.

The development marks another addition to the renewable energy portfolio of the NTPC Green Energy group and supports its focus on expanding clean energy capacity in India.

6.3 MW Vanki Wind Energy Capacity Begins Commercial Operation

The second part capacity of the Vanki Wind Energy Project comprises 6.3 MW and is located in Nakhatrana in Gujarat’s Kutch district.

According to the company, the capacity became commercially operational from midnight on September 13.

NTPC Green Energy Group Capacity Rises to 10,842.86 MW

With the addition of the 6.3 MW capacity, the total commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group has increased from 10,836.56 MW to 10,842.86 MW.

The latest capacity addition further strengthens the group’s renewable energy portfolio and reflects its ongoing efforts to expand clean energy assets.

The company continues to develop renewable energy projects as part of its contribution towards India’s transition to cleaner sources of energy.

Project Operated Through NTPC Renewable Energy

The newly operational capacity belongs to NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited.

The Vanki Wind Energy Project is part of the group’s broader renewable energy development programme and adds further wind power capacity to its portfolio.

The project in Kutch also highlights the company’s continued focus on developing renewable energy assets across regions with strong potential for clean power generation.

Regulatory Disclosure Filed with Stock Exchanges

NTPC Green Energy announced the commercial operation of the project in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The company submitted the relevant filing to both major Indian stock exchanges.

The filing details are:

  • National Stock Exchange of India Limited: Trading symbol NTPCGREEN
  • BSE Limited: Scrip code 544289

The disclosure formally communicated the commencement of commercial operation of the second part capacity of the Vanki Wind Energy Project.

Vanki Wind Project Adds to India’s Clean Energy Capacity

The commissioning of the 6.3 MW capacity comes as NTPC Green Energy continues to increase its renewable energy footprint.
