Patna: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said Bihar has strong potential to emerge as a major hub for industry, enterprise and innovation, citing its expanding infrastructure, improved connectivity, skilled human capital and growing investment ecosystem.
Gadkari was speaking at the Rising Bihar Investor Summit 2026, held in Patna on the theme “The Emerging Investment Destination of India” in the presence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
Infrastructure and Investment
Gadkari stressed that better roads and connectivity can improve access to markets, support industrial activity and create employment opportunities. The Centre has also assured support for infrastructure development in Bihar.
The summit brought together investors, policymakers, industry leaders and entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in sectors including manufacturing, energy, roads, agriculture and food processing, urban development, IT and IT-enabled services.

Bihar Targets ₹5 Lakh Crore Investment
The Bihar government has set a target of attracting ₹5 lakh crore in investments by November 2026, according to the official summit website. The state has also highlighted more than 100 industrial areas and investment incentives under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package 2025, including fiscal benefits, subsidies and land concessions for eligible projects.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary invited domestic and international investors to participate in Bihar’s development and highlighted infrastructure, industrial expansion and employment generation as key priorities.
The summit also featured sectoral discussions, B2B and B2G meetings, investment policy presentations, startup initiatives and district-level investment opportunities.
