Bihar Transfers 5 IPS Officers and 8 DSPs; Sanjay Singh Appointed ADG Security

PATNA: The Government of Bihar has transferred five senior IPS officers and eight Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)-level officers in a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening law and order, security and specialised policing across the state.

The changes involve officers at the ranks of Additional Director General (ADG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Superintendent of Police (SP), along with several field-level and specialised assignments.

Sanjay Singh Appointed ADG (Security)

1997 batch senior IPS officer Sanjay Singh has been posted as Additional Director General (Security).

In addition to his new assignment, he will also hold the additional charge of ADG (Budget, Appeal and Welfare).

Aditya Kumar Posted as Commandant, BSAP-14

2011 batch IPS officer Aditya Kumar, who was serving in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been appointed Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-14.

He has also been given additional charge as Superintendent of Police, CID-3.

Anand Kumar Made DIG (Security)

2012 batch IPS officer Anand Kumar has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (Security).

He will continue to hold additional charge as DIG (Law and Order).

Rajesh Kumar Shifted to Cyber Research and Operations

2016 batch promotee IPS officer Rajesh Kumar has been transferred from SP, Naugachia, and posted as Superintendent of Police, Cyber Research and Operations in the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Patna.

Vaibhav Sharma Appointed SP, Naugachia

2018 batch IPS officer Sharma, who had been holding charge of SP, Cyber Research and Operations, EOU, has been appointed the new Superintendent of Police of Naugachia.

DSP-Level Transfers in Bihar

The state government has also transferred eight DSP-rank officers to various districts and specialised units.

  • Anupesh Narayan posted as SDPO, Nirmali (Supaul)
  • Gopal Krishna appointed SDPO, Mohania (Kaimur)
  • Vikas Kumar transferred to Special Task Force (STF), Patna
  • Kaushal Kishore Kamal posted to CID, Patna
  • Ranjan Kumar Singh appointed DSP (Traffic), Purnia
  • Suresh Prasad Ram posted to Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), Patna
  • Krishna Kumar Gupta transferred to Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), Patna

Reshuffle Aimed at Strengthening Policing

Officials said the transfers are intended to improve policing efficiency, enhance cybercrime response and strengthen coordination across security, vigilance and district law enforcement units.

The reshuffle places experienced officers in key operational positions dealing with security, cyber investigations and specialised enforcement functions across Bihar.
