Patna: The Bihar government will distribute land settlement certificates to 30,000 eligible landless families under Abhiyan Basera-02 on Independence Day, August 15.

Special camps will be organised across all districts to provide beneficiaries with land rights for housing. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has directed district administrations to ensure proper arrangements and personally monitor the programme.

Special Camps Across All Districts

The certificate distribution will take place after the official Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremonies in the districts.

District in-charge ministers, other ministers and public representatives will also participate in the programmes and distribute certificates to selected beneficiaries.

Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dr Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said the government wants to ensure that no eligible landless family remains without land needed for housing.

30,000 Families Targeted on August 15

The government has set a target of providing settlement certificates to 30,000 landless families on Independence Day.

According to the department, the initiative aims to provide eligible families with land rights and support them in building a more secure and dignified life.

The minister described Abhiyan Basera-02 as an important step towards taking land rights and housing security to landless families.

Certificates Already Digitally Verified

The department has started preparations for the distribution in advance.

The digitally signed settlement certificates of beneficiaries are being uploaded and verified. The certificates will then be printed and made available at the respective distribution centres.

This preparation is intended to prevent delays during the Independence Day programmes.

District Administration to Monitor Arrangements

District administrations will handle the arrangements for beneficiaries attending the special camps.

District magistrates have been directed to personally monitor the programme and coordinate with elected representatives and other officials.

The department has also made photography and videography mandatory at the certificate distribution programmes. This will help maintain records of the implementation of Abhiyan Basera-02.

Land Rights Linked to Housing Security

The initiative focuses on families who qualify for land but do not currently have land required for housing.

By providing settlement certificates, the government aims to give beneficiaries a formal basis for accessing their allotted land.

The programme also reflects a broader push to extend government welfare measures to eligible landless households at the grassroots level.

Independence Day Initiative for Landless Families

The distribution of certificates to 30,000 families on August 15 is expected to strengthen Abhiyan Basera-02, providing vulnerable families greater security over housing land and supporting a more stable future.
